Glyn Williams
Welcome to the website of Glyn Williams, based in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.
I have no formal training in photography, just a love for the amazing and different content of the world around us, whether natural or man-made and take photos as a hobby. My aims are to produce images which are colourful and interesting. Although, I do produce some black and white images as well!
I am degree educated, BSc in Micro and Environmental Biology, and worked in the agricultural research industry for some 20 years. In 1994, I achieved the status of ‘Charted Biologist’. In 2005, I changed direction completely and retrained as a primary school teacher via the Graduate Teacher Training program at Homerton, Cambridge with strong interests in Science and ICT and later the STEM subjects.
It was during my first job, when my interest in photography grew. I was given the opportunity to use a fully equipped photographic studio and darkroom, taking photos and creating presentations by hand, which were then photographed onto slide film for the various talks and publications the organisation gave and produced. A time before PowerPoint and Windows was in its infancy (Windows 1). Hence, initially my photos were dominated by plants and fungi. Over the years, I have gained more experience and learnt new techniques and my portfolio has diversified.
I also create my own frames and mount and frame my own work and the work of others.
All these images are available for purchase, but only represent a small proportion of my work. Please contact me, if interested in any of these images or if you have a request for a particular subject not shown. Or indeed if you wish to leave an encouraging comment or constructive criticism.
Thank you for visiting my site.
